This module introduces you to Claude Cowork, Anthropic’s AI-powered assistant for knowledge work, available through Claude Desktop on macOS and Windows. You will start with the basics of the Claude.ai interface to build a strong foundation before moving into more advanced features. The module explores how to assign tasks to AI, connect local files, use plugins and external connectors, and apply ready-made skills from the Skills Directory. You will also learn how to schedule recurring tasks and manage multi-step workflows using AI. Through a hands-on session, you will complete a real business task end-to-end using Claude Cowork, gaining practical confidence in working with AI-driven productivity tools.
Learning Outcomes
Navigate Claude Desktop and the Claude.ai interface confidently, and understand how Cowork sits within the Claude ecosystem.
Assign a multi-step knowledge work task to Claude Cowork using clear natural language instructions and evaluate the output.
Install and use relevant plugins from the Cowork plugin marketplace for their specific business function (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Research, Productivity).
Connect Claude Cowork to external tools and data sources using connectors such as Gmail, Google Drive, or Notion.
Browse the Skills Directory and apply pre-built skills to accelerate recurring business tasks.
Set up a scheduled or recurring task within Cowork and understand best practices for delegating work to an AI agent.

Entry Criteria
Must have an intermediate-level understanding of AI prompt writing for Large Language Models.
Claude Desktop must be installed on a macOS or Windows computer prior to the session.
A Claude Pro subscription is strongly recommended for full Cowork functionality.
Participants should bring a laptop with Claude Desktop pre-installed and logged in.
Upon successful completion of each module, learners will receive an e-certificate. Learners who complete a minimum of three modules will receive the APIDM Certified AI Business Innovator certification and APIDM Certified Digital Badge to easily share your achievement on LinkedIn and other platforms. This represents the successful completion of Stage 2 of the AI Business Acceleration Series.
