For Thivanka Vithanage, the digital economy is not defined by the tools a business uses, but by how effectively those systems drive operational clarity and commercial growth. His career spans regional and international organizations across telecommunications, IT, and SaaS platforms, where he has focused on bridging the gap between technical infrastructure and commercial growth. Currently a Sustainability & Digital Systems Researcher at Keele University (UK), Thivanka explores the synergy between green technologies and digital business systems, positioning himself as a forward-thinking leader in the evolving digital economy.
Thivanka’s professional journey is defined by a consistent ability to drive data-informed decision-making across diverse sectors. As the Director of Premium Oil Store Pvt Ltd since 2019, he pioneered one of Sri Lanka’s first digitally-driven automobile lubricant retail models, successfully integrating modern digital channels into a traditionally brick-and-mortar industry. Previously, as Assistant Manager for Customer Success & Pre-Sales at Enadoc (2022–2024), he spearheaded client onboarding and retention strategies for enterprise SaaS products—specifically the Evia, Enadoc DMS and Flowdoh platforms—ensuring seamless technology adoption and the sustained growth of the company’s regional client portfolio. His earlier tenure at Zone24x7 from 2018 to 2022 as a Senior Business Designer further honed his ability to develop digital marketing and business strategies in high-delivery tech environments.
Thivanka’s impact on the professional and academic landscape is marked by several key milestones in curriculum design and global recognition. He served as a key architect in the development of the Digital Product Management module for the final-year Business Information Systems (BIS) degree at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, where he continues to deliver the program as a visiting lecturer. His professional trajectory and mastery of international IT qualifications were notably featured in a formal global case study by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (UK), where he is recognized as a professional member (MBCS). Furthermore, he maintains an active presence in industry discourse through his dedicated LinkedIn newsletter, which bridges his current research in environmental sustainability with practical business applications.
The foundation of Thivanka’s expertise is built on a comprehensive suite of academic and professional credentials. He holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Kelaniya (2024) and a Professional Graduate Diploma in IT from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (UK). His technical proficiency is further validated by a Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis from BCS and a Certificate in Digital Marketing from APIDM (2019). He is currently completing an MSc in Environmental Sustainability and Green Technology at Keele University (UK), a specialized track that allows him to advise businesses on the intersection of technical infrastructure and ethical, sustainable commercial strategy.
"Being a trainer, to me, is about responsibility and trust."
Learners offer their time and openness, and I see my role as helping them turn ideas into understanding by connecting theory with real situations. I enjoy seeing learners move from hesitation to clarity, where concepts begin to make sense in their own context. Those moments of engagement, discussion, and questioning matter more to me than simply arriving at correct answers. What drives me as a trainer is relevance and application;
I focus on practical scenarios drawn from real-world experience so learning feels grounded and useful beyond the classroom. My aim is to build confidence in thinking and decision-making, helping learners ask better questions and see problems from different perspectives.
